& Production Policy

By submitting any 3D file, drawing, image, logo, specification, physical sample, or instruction (collectively, “Project Content”), you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have authority to place the order.

You also represent and warrant that you either created and own the Project Content, or have a valid license or written permission that allows you to reproduce it and authorize Akidos Studio to manufacture the requested quantity for the requested use. Buying or downloading a file does not automatically provide manufacturing rights. A receipt alone is not sufficient when the applicable license prohibits third-party printing, commercial use, sharing, or reproduction.

You grant Akidos Studio a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to access, inspect, convert, repair, scale, orient, split, support, reproduce, and otherwise process the Project Content only as reasonably necessary to evaluate, quote, test, manufacture, inspect, and fulfill your project.

You keep all ownership rights you already hold. Akidos does not acquire ownership of your design and will not publish, sell, reuse, or display it in a portfolio without separate permission from you. Material geometry changes require your approval; routine production changes such as orientation, supports, rafts, and machine preparation do not.

Do not submit content that infringes another person’s copyright, trademark, patent, trade dress, right of publicity, privacy right, or other legal right. Recognizable characters, logos, branded replicas, fan art, product copies, and protected designs may be declined unless you provide evidence of authorization that covers the requested manufacture.

Akidos may ask for the source, license terms, purchase record, or written permission. Akidos may reject or cancel a project whenever it reasonably suspects infringement. A preliminary review by Akidos is not legal clearance and does not transfer responsibility for the Project Content away from you.

Akidos will not knowingly manufacture illegal items; functional weapons or weapon components; firearm frames or receivers; suppressors; ammunition; magazines; explosive devices; conversion devices; items intended to bypass locks, security, or access controls; or content that is threatening, exploitative, hateful, or unlawful.

Medical, food-contact, electrical, automotive safety, aerospace, child-safety, pressure-bearing, and other regulated or safety-critical uses require advance written review. Unless expressly agreed in writing, Akidos parts are not certified for those uses. Realistic props and replicas may also require review and may be declined.

Akidos may review a file for obvious printability or rights concerns, but does not promise to identify every design defect, licensing restriction, patent issue, or unsafe use. You are responsible for checking dimensions, units, mating features, clearances, wall thicknesses, and intended function before approving production.

3D printing naturally involves layer lines, support marks, seams, minor color variation, shrinkage, warping, and dimensional variation. Critical dimensions, threads, fits, surface requirements, and tolerances must be identified in writing before quoting. If no special tolerance is agreed, normal process capability and reasonable visual variation apply.

An automated preview or saved project is not a production acceptance or final quote. Price and lead time may change after file, material, finish, quantity, licensing, and manufacturability review. Production begins only after the final scope, price, and any required payment are approved.

Because each part is made to order, change-of-mind cancellations or returns may be unavailable after production begins. If a delivered part does not conform to the agreed written specifications, notify Akidos within seven calendar days with photos and a description. Akidos may inspect the part and, as appropriate, repair, reprint, replace, or refund the affected item. Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot legally be waived.

You are responsible for the legality of the Project Content, the requested quantity and use, and final validation of the manufactured part in its intended application. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Akidos Studio harmless from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of the rights and authorization promises in this policy or from your unlawful use of the manufactured part.

Project Content is treated as private project material and used only for evaluation, quoting, production, quality review, customer support, and necessary business records. Akidos may share it only with personnel or service providers who need it to perform the project, or when required by law.

Akidos will not use customer files, names, or finished-part photos for marketing or portfolio purposes without separate permission. This policy is not a nondisclosure agreement; projects requiring formal confidentiality terms should request an NDA before sending sensitive information.

Checking the required boxes and saving or submitting a project creates an electronic acknowledgement of this policy for the identified Project Content. If you submit on behalf of a company or another person, you confirm that you are authorized to bind them.

This policy is governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The parties will first try in good faith to resolve a dispute directly. Any court proceeding will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction serving Sacramento County, California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
